Mitchell Family

The Mitchell Family was recommended for a photoshoot as a part of the Olivia Act to honor the children who lost their lives in the recent elementary school shooting.  The family was recommended by a friend who felt that they truly deserved to have their family photos taken (Something that they had never had done!)

Their precious baby boy just turned a year old and the family had no professional photos of him, I felt so honored to be able to capture his photograph for the family to have and keep in their home forever.

There was such an extreme amount of beautiful love between this family.  And their little boy was so very happy.  They seemed to exude happiness and love for each other and I feel like this really comes across in their pictures and in the smile of their child.

Jake and I grew up a street apart from each other, always going to the same schools, and with our brothers being best friends.

When he contacted me at the beginning of the year for a shoot I was so excited!

Whether you believe it or not photography so often feels like a girls game.  I rarely get the opportunity to photography boys, especially ADULT boys!  Excluding of course my fabulous grooms.

So I packed  up my supplies and Jake and I headed downtown to the arts district for his shoot, I felt like this area of town really represented Jake as a person and had a lot of different textures we could utilize in our session.

I really enjoyed this session and I hope that Jake isn’t a stranger and we can collaborate again soon.
